What the report looks like
A boat moving at 4 m/s relative to the water crosses a river 80 m wide where the current is 3 m/s. How far downstream does it land from the opposite point?
Time = width ÷ boat speed = 80 ÷ 4 = 20 s, and drift = current speed × time = 3 × 20 = 60 m.
